Somatic Foundations of Presence, Touch, and Movement
Somatic Foundations of Presence, Touch, and Movement is part of the field of somatic movement education and therapy, developed through Roger Tolle’s decades of international teaching, the touch and presence shared with over 10,000 clients, and extensive interdisciplinary personal somatic exploration. Somatic Foundations invites us into deeper contact with the felt sensations of our presence, our touch, and our movement.
These teachings support a wide spectrum of personal and professional interests—helping somatic educators, dance therapists, and other body-based practitioners renew their embodiment, offering massage therapists, physical and occupational therapists, and other clinicians tools to complement therapeutic care, guiding artists, educators, and caregivers in cultivating presence and connection, and inviting individuals into movement with greater curiosity, freedom, and pleasure.
Here you’ll find details about the workshops, access to the companion booklet, and a growing online library—as well as ways to learn more about Roger and his ongoing practice.
Somatic Foundations Workshops
These four-day workshops delve into the somatic movement foundations of presence, touch, and movement, inviting participants to experience the work’s guiding principles of softness, weight, waves, connection, play, pause, and authenticity. We explore how our felt sense of movement changes the potency of our touch. This workshop is for anyone interested in deepening their relationship with touch and movement, in personal or professional settings.
